Scope of Work & Procedures
DRYWALL / ACOUSTIC CEILING REMOVAL
Process: We will wet and remove the existing acoustic texture and prep the drywall. The prep consists of skim coating the tape joints, set and spot the nail heads, and screw up the loose drywall if needed. We will then apply an Orange Peel Splatter, Knock Down texture, or smooth finish.
Texture finishes: The Orange Peel Splatter is a light texture finish, which results in a smoother look. The Knock Down is a heavier textured application that is hand troweled for a laced finished look.
Time: Approximately 1,000 sq. ft. of acoustic can be removed, prepared and textured in one day. The ceilings then need to cure for approximately 1 to 3 days before painting.
PLASTER / ACOUSTIC CEILING REMOVAL
Process: If the existing acoustic ceilings are a hard plaster texture, we will scrape and apply a (2) coat hand plaster smooth or hand troweled texture finish.
Time: Approximately 350 sq. ft of ceilings can be completed in one day. The ceilings need to cure for approximately 4 to 7 days before painting.
PLASTER / ACOUSTIC CEILING REMOVAL - (If there is a smooth coat underneath)
Process: If the acoustic ceiling texture was applied over an existing smooth plaster finish, than we will wet and remove the existing texture and prep the existing surface for paint.
Time: Approximately 1000 sq. ft. of acoustic can be removed and prepared for paint in one day. The ceilings need to cure for approx. 1 to 3 days before painting.
ACOUSTIC CEILINGS / RESPRAY OR NEW SPRAY
Process: We apply a primer sealer coat and new acoustic texture finish. The standard acoustic color is "White".
Time: Approximately 1,500 sq. ft. can be completed in one day.
PAINTING (CEILINGS AND WALLS)
Process: All cracks will be taped (fiberglass), patched, and finished to match existing surface. All loose paint, plaster, etc.is scraped, patched, and prepared before the finish is applied. All repairs will be completed before any texturing, plaster, or paint is applied. All areas will be prepared and caulked as needed. Apply primer sealer coat as needed and paint finish. We roll and/or brush the paint (not sprayed) to assure better coverage and a quality finish. We are proud users of Dunn Edwards Paint.
DRYWALL / PLASTER REPAIRS
Process: All cracks will be taped (Fiberglas), patched and finished to match the existing surface. All loose paint, plaster, etc. is scraped, patched, and prepared before the finish is applied. All repairs will be completed before any texturing, plastering, or painting is applied.
