Drywall / Acoustic Ceiling Removal
Spangler & Sons will scrape and remove the old acoustic material and apply a smooth or textured finish.
Old Ceilings Made New!
Process: We will wet and remove the existing acoustic texture and prep the drywall. The prep consists of skim coating the tape joints, set and spot the nail heads, and screw up the loose drywall if needed. We will then apply an Orange Peel Splatter, Knock Down texture, or Smooth finish.
Texture finishes: The Orange Peel Splatter is a light texture finish, which results in a smoother look. The Knock Down is a heavier textured application that is hand troweled for a laced finished look.
Time: Approximately 1,000 sq. ft. of acoustic can be removed, prepared and textured in one day. The ceilings then need to cure for approximately 1 to 3 days before painting. We can prime and paint approximately 600 to 800 sq. ft. of ceilings per day.
Plaster / Acoustic Ceiling Removal
Process: If the existing acoustic ceilings are a hard plaster texture, we will perform a scrape and apply a (2) coat hand plaster smooth or hand troweled texture finish. If the acoustic ceiling texture was applied over an existing smooth plaster finish, than we will wet and remove the existing texture and prep the existing surface for paint.
Time: Approximately 300 to 350 sq. ft of ceilings can be completed in one day. The ceilings need to cure for approximately 4 to 7 days before painting. We can prime and paint approximately 600 to 800 sq. ft. of ceilings per day.
